ABOUT
Thomas comes from a multidisciplinary background. In the visual arts, he specialized in miniature graphite
and architectural rendering. Later, he studied piano and honed a 5-octave vocal instrument.
His manuscript for a creative fiction is a Bible. When he recently picked up guitar and production,
it all zipped together. He writes, composes, produces, performs, markets and manages his own music.
The 39 promotional videos painstakingly made for each release were made from scratch, and, in time, he plans to direct his
own music videos, all of which he has already written top to bottom. He considers "Rose", a debut album
released episodically, to be the culmination of his craft, a cohesive story told with music, poetry and ecletic
imagery. Ultimately, though, this opus is just the beginning.
Thomas once emulated strident pop vocalists. Then he became enamored with stories being told tenderly,
drawing inspiration from artists like Jonathan Morali, Sufjan Stevens, Cigarettes After Sex and Beach House.
With this, Thomas finds his own style and creates a delicate, cinematic soundscape that has been described as a
contemporary take on the dream pop and shoegaze genres that sets him apart as both an artist and a composer.
According to critics, "there is no doubt that Thomas Bernard Howard is creating a universe of his own."
